Is anyone from Singapore/Japan, or know a lot about either place?
As mentioned previously I’m looking to run the Groupon offer in both city’s on Facebook and publish everything here to share. I need help though, mainly just stuff to know about the city, and then text translations as well, but that’s not as important.
The main roadblock for this offer is i can only find it on Neverblue and they require a landing page which will tamper with the way I’m used to promoting these offers.
Anyways, if your from Singapore/Japan or know a lot about either country, post here!
This has also been a ton of help for prelim research (translating their groupon homepage, seeing what previously has sold well):
I’m from Singapore! What do you want to know?
Groupon Singapore = $0.175 EPC & $0.75 Payout
Groupon Japan = $0.009 EPC & $2.50 Payout
It’s weird because the network volume supposedly is huge for Japan…
Awsome epicskillz, well if your interested in helping I’m just wondering pretty much whats popular in Singapore. I know that’s a pretty dumb question, but I’m wondering in terms of country-specific things. Sports is usually the easiest to begin with: but i’m wondering for everything if possible, not just sports.
In Canada It’s Hockey
In Australia is Rugby, Cricket & Surfing
I’m wondering about anything, food, sports, things to see, popular activities etc..
Also whats the common language there? I noticed the Groupon page is in English, and wikipedia mentions English, Malay and Chinese. Can most people read english in Singapore?
For anyone interested.
1,992,500 people who live in Singapore over 18 are on Facebook and min suggested bids start at 0.83. I’m sure with a CTR over 0.2 those bids will drop significantly faster than US/UK etc…
i tried to run Groupon on Google display( content network) in Japan and got an Adwords account banned.
I used one of the listed banners and targeted the main cities, couldnt think of another way to do it as Facebook ppc seemingly wasn’t allowed.
Social is allowed on Neverblue for the Groupon offers, and i just saw this too ‘Google Content Network is not allowed on this campaign’ for the offers.
Did an AM say that? Still seeing the " NO Facebook only the non-direct approach.." in the T& Cs?
Japan seems to be the only one that doesn’t have the "Google Content Network is not allowed on this campaign." warning.
He told me social is allowed, but i just saw the no Facebook in the T&C, blah. I’ll email him tomorrow. Singapore also has no content network allowed.
My AM and I interpret "NO Facebook only the non-direct approach" as you are not allowed to direct link and must use a landing page. Furthermore, creatives and landing pages must be reviewed and approved by the advertiser before running.
You just need a landing page if using Facebook. I think i was told this just a few days ago and forgot.
Well soccer is popular in Singapore, namely EPL and Champions League.
Yeah we’re all fluent in English. Chinese language would be us Chinese’ second
language, same thing for Malays and Indians (we’re a multi-racial society) but
almost all of us speak English.
Hope this helps.
