I have the feeling this might be a dumb idea for some reason that I just haven’t though of, but I was thinking of putting fresh installs of P202 and CPV Lab on the same domain, like so:
and then having all my LPs be hosted on "www.trackingdomain.com." The reason? It seems like there may be some performance boost from redirecting within the same domain (bbrock mentioned on another thread this would reduce DNS lookups).
However, I’m wondering if P202 and CPV Lab might conflict with one another, or if there might be some other downfall to having LPs, P202 and CPV Lab all on one domain.
No , I dont think it’s a problem for as long as your server can handle the load of redirects and serving landing pages.
Just keep in mind that if you want to put an SSL cert on them for Secure pixels then you will need to put them in a folder instead of a subdomain.
One of my servers has 4 active instances of 202, AND 2 scrapers running at times, no problems.
It’s really about volume, if you have 4 instances running at Y volume each, it’s fairly close to 1 instance at 4Y.
I was able to do this with subdomains by talking to my host and they mapped a unique Ip to each one of my subdomains. I did need to purchase 2 ssl certs though. Probably easier to put them in subfolders, but it can be done the other way.
it depends on the server can handle the load or not…no issue if cram all into one
Awesome, thanks guys!
