So in my last post http://stackthatmoney.com/forum/show…n-POF-Now-what, I had a pretty profitable campaign on POF. I took the advice of posters and decided to try my hand at Facebook. After it took me literally 2 hours (!!!) to set up 1 campaign, only to have all my ads denied (!!!), I resubmitted, and finally got approved (unfortunately some of my racier images got denied). I took my best images from the POF campaign, and used basically the same targeting. I’m concentrating on the UK and focusing on women in their 30s. My demo is about 120,000. Well after about 1 hour, here are my stats:
I started off bidding .80, after the suggested bid was something like $1.20 (which changed to $1.40 suddenly). After 10 minutes of not getting any impressions, I upped the bid by 5 cents until I started getting impressions. So far, I’ve gotten 3 conversions with it, and so I’m still profitable, even though it’s not by much. I just need to get the CPC down. Is it still to early to do anything with this to bring the CTR up, or should I just let it run?
ya you need to work on those ads….targeting, images, copy
Fb isn’t gonna show much below a .04 ….is not a good user experience……
You need to get much higher CTR. Your goal should be 0.15+ and you will get your CPC down too.
Implent your targeting into your ads (angle) to boost ctr a bit, and test lots of ads!
Seems this campaing got potentional as you are in profit with this high CPC
Should I pause all the ads I’m running now and put up some new ones? Are these ads not coming back from the dead?
Ugh…ok I paused the ads. They were really going down the drain. I’ll find some new images to test.
I think so far, it’s important to note that what works well on one platform isn’t necessarily going to work well on the other. A lot of people have this assumption!
It’s true. I don’t know why I thought it would be easy to bring my campaign from POF to FB, but it’s proving to be more difficult than I expected. But I’m up for the challenge.
Besides, I have a good feeling about this campaign. Just found some more "weird" and "WTF" images to test, since my last batch was busted. Some of the images are marginally related to my offer, but they were kind of eye-catching, so I threw them up there as well. Not sure if these "weirder" images would work well with a dating offer, but might as well test it, right? I also photoshopped them and added borders and other such things to make it "pop" off the page more. Took me another couple hours (!!!) to set it up on Facebook. I don’t know if it’s my computer or FB itself, but it sure is taking me a long ass time to get these ads up. I might have to invest in an FB uploader because this is getting ridiculous. Oh and my first batch of ads were denied because "The text of your ad contains language that is not suitable for display on Facebook," eventhough all my other ads that were approved had the same exact text(!!!). But enough ranting about FB’s approvals process–I’m sure everyone has experienced this anyways. Hopefully these new batch of pictures will get my CTR up. I’ll post stats once I get them.
Weird pictures, usually decent CTR but crap CVR I wish you the best of luck though!
Yes, keep in mind that the FB platform allows you to get your click costs WAY down with good CTR. This is not necessarily the case with POF.
IMO on POF you will be better off to focus on high conversions – you will probably never see 10c clicks unless you target very small and very tight pockets. Unlike FB there is no volume to support such tight targeting.
