So I ran a campaign this morning.
Suggested Bid: 1.42-1.57
.30 no traffic
.45 no traffic
.48 no traffic
.55 traffic hit with a couple thousand impressions and got 35 clicks.
I saw the suggested bid go down to 1.23-1.36 and adjusted to .51
Then I got another 30 something clicks so I lowered again to .40 because suggested bid changed to:
.45-63 and then immediately to .36-.51 and my avg CPC was .23 and CTR was .318
Now theres no more traffic after I changed the bids to .40, but then my suggested bid went back up to .63-.71 range.
I changed this in a course of after seeing the clicks come in so within an hour.
Do you think I changed my bids too quickly? Or what should I do now to get more traffic? Max bid?
Any suggestions? Thanks!
that’s exactly why you want to start your bids relatively high. the actual cpc’s you pay will fall completely on their own in direct relation to your CTR.
Yeah, I took your advice on another campaign and it kept going!
Got avg cpc .20 and .286 CTR. Unfortunately, they disapproved my other ad.. but I had another one running and that one began to pick up traffic.
So if suggested bids were 1.42-1.57, instead of starting bids at .30-.55 he should have been starting around the 1.10 mark? Is that correct?
@nick the only reason why I didn’t want to start at 1.10 mark is because the payout for the offer was $1.60. Sorta didn’t make sense to bid that 1.10.. so I did .55 and hoped that my CTR was up and atleast my cpc would kick in at like 30-40 cents to start.
But yeah, if anyone has any feedback that would be great!
After all we are all here to learn from each others mistakes and experiences so we can all succeed! =)
You need to bid high because you need to give your ad the chance to get clicks and i think you get best ad place if you start high which means higher ctr.
then if your ads have high ctr ads your cpc will go down. But only drop your bids after ~ 75 clicks , after this you drop them more but with small steps.
you always need to spend and lose money before you get profitable
I always use the rule of 60% of the low end suggested so for a low end suggestion of 1.42 i would of bid about 0.85
Drop the bids after 100 clicks.
