Using 202 and 3rd Party Conversion Pixels From Pof Or Adwords etc?
How do you guys do it / manage it? I run my campaigns through 202, but I know that some people reccommend Adwords or like MSN to optimize the campaign for your per cpa etc. So you have to go and get the conversion script and place it/ contact the advertiser or network and get it placed, lots of hoops to jump through, is it worth it for every campaign you run?
And also for POF, you would need to use their conversion pixel to know exactly the demographic of the conversion with 202 you just know when it converts and not the other info…
What do you guys focus on and what do you suggest is best way to use 202 and the tracking pixels from other ad sites?
If you’re using Adwords, then their tracking pixel is very useful at seeing the CPA at the keyword/ad level, and simple to set up. What I usually do is generate the conversion tracking code, and only use the part that refers to an image pixel. For example:
<img height="1" width="1" style="border-style:none;" alt="" src="http://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/conversion/XXXX"/>
Your affiliate network’s interface should have a way to add image pixels to each offer. Usually you only need to take the actual URL of the pixel, none of the other HTML code. So you would just insert http://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/conversion/XXXX
Hope that helps.
Ahh I see, never thought about that! Thanks.
So do you just focus on the Adwords dashboard/interface and not use P202 then at all? I just dont know of a good way to use both p202 and the adwords dashboard…. only way is to have both pixels fire but most networks dont have the option to add more then one without emails..
Also I get something that is more similar to this:
<img height="1" width="1" style="border-style:none;" alt="" src="http://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/conversion/xxx/?value=2.30&label=xxxxxxx&guid=ON&scri pt=0"/>
Is my CPA goal important here? 2.30 is for example, my CPA that Im trying to achieve..
So would I add this as my pixel instead: http://www.googleadservices.com/page…value=2.30&
I don’t think you need any of the parameters after the "/conversion/xxxx" part, like value, guid, or script. But it’s been a while since I’ve done it, so if you don’t see any conversions registering after 24 hours, you can always go back and add that part.
You can import your conversions into 202 manually and still optimize your landing pages as well. There’s probably a better way to do it using Google Website Optimizer that incorporates your conversion data, but I’ve never looked into it. I just upload subids into 202 and then check my LP reports…
Why don’t you create a php file,put both pixels in it and add this file to the your offer as an image pixel.This way your both pixels will be fired when a conversion happens.
Never thought about that either… so pretty much put my p202 pixel and my adwords pixel on a .php page, and then take that url and paste it into my add pixel on my networks side? That way both pixels will fire right?
Does that work, sorry but I’m not a coder so not sure how pixels work or what they need but if that method works that would be awesome!
Exactly. It works like a charm for me.
Nice. Thanks for the tip…
